Borehole Drill Point Estimation - Determining a viable drill point

 

 

The starting point to any potentially succesful borehole project is the process of identifying viable borehole drilling positions.

 

By combining the use of traditional water dowsing methods i.e Divining rods and Geophysics equipment we have been able to increase the success rate on water bearing boreholes to 90%.

 

Each boreholes success point is determined by the required usage. 

 

The geophysics equipment sends a frequency into the geology via two probes. The density of the geology is measured based on the time it takes for the frequency to penetrate each different layer of the geology.

 

What we are looking for is a overlap in frequency with a narrowing convergence, this normally indicates the presence of groundwater.

 

It is key to note that the survey still only provides an estimate on where the groundwater is located but does not indicate volume or sustainability.
