Complete water resource Evaluations

Boreholes, Pumps and Supply Lines

Types of yield tests:

Residential Yield Tests:

  • Borehole Evaluation - A simple 2 to 4 hour yield test to determine whether an existing borehole is still viable. We can install dedicated yield testing equipment or utilise the existing equipment to determine whether the borehole is a functional groundwater resource. Once this has been determine the test can be adjusted to determine extractable water volumes.
  • Maximum Yield Test - Normally a 4 hour test the maximum yield test allows us to determine the amount of water inflow over a 4 hour period. During this test we do not monitor recharge and the data gathered is simply to determine the maximum borehole capacity at that time. Installation guidelines for this data would normally be 60% of maximum yield not exceeding more than 8 hours per day.
  • Extended Step Test (Borehole Bank Certificate Test) - The extended step test is a more in depth yield test, we use dedicated yield testing equipment, ultrasonic flow meters and electronic water level logging devices to determine a sustainable yield. The test duration is normally between 4 and 6 hours. Installation guidelines for this data is normally 80% of sustainable yield not exceeding more than 60% of a 24 hour period.

Aggricultural Yield Tests:

  • 8, 12 or 24 Hour Constant Yield Tests - We use dedicated yield testing equipment, ultrasonic flow meters and electronic water level logging devices during these yield tests. The yield test comprises of 6 phases - Calibration and Recovery, Step Test and Recovery, Constant Yield Test and recovery. The duration for these tests vary between 12 and 48 hours.

Once these yield tests have been coompleted a sustainable yield is determined at an 80% rate not exceeding more than 60% of a 24 hour period.

Commercial Yield Tests:

  • 24, 48 or 72 Hour Constant Yield Tests - We use dedicated yield testing equipment, ultrasonic flow meters and electronic water level logging devices during these yield tests. The yield test comprises of 6 phases - Calibration and Recovery, Step Test and Recovery, Constant Yield Test and recovery. The duration for these tests vary between 48 and 144 hours.

Once these yield tests have been coompleted a sustainable yield is determined at an 80% rate not exceeding more than 60% of a 24 hour period.
